Captain Shame

Captain Shame started making erotic art in order to cure his addiction to porn. It didn’t work. He’s trying to do something that sits in between various camps. The words that accompany his pictures are too hard and course to be erotica, but the pictures are too pretty to be explicit filth. ‘I want people to like something dirtier than they thought they were into.’

Captain Shame’s drawings exist primarily to illustrate his cum drenched soap opera Redlion Street. An intense, horny look at a fictional sex addicted street in North London. Originally the drawings were crude cartoons based partly on porn and amateur cam stars. As the blog continued Captain Shame recruited real life models to draw and the art became steadily more elaborate and detailed.

‘Women love to be drawn and I love to draw them,’ says Shame. ‘On-line collaborations would often degenerate into crazy cyber sex sessions.’

As to whether Captain Shame’s art is Art or Porn, he himself is quite sure. ‘I don’t consider what I do to be art. I’m trying to make people hard and wet. I want them to masturbate to my drawings, that is all. Sometimes drawings can be sexier that photos. It’s all about what you leave out.’
